of becoming a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our organization was formed by dedicated community volunteers who are committed to the
preservation and utilization of the Murphy House [School Administration Building] in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

On November 14, 2007, the Mount Clemens Board of
Education voted 4-2 to take bids to demolish the
Murphy House/Board of Education building.  This
breathtaking arts and crafts style building is one of the
last links to Mount Clemen's fascinating Bath City era.
Please contact the Superintendent Dr. Charles
Muncatchy and the Board of Education and ask the
following:

  • Put a moratorium on demolition
  • Listen to community opinion
  • Come back to the negotiation table
  • Anything you feel that could be positive and
    constructive
